Core Tip Retroperitoneal hemorrhage (RPH) is a rare complication during the operation of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). Corona virus disease-19 (COVID-19) patients are often accompanied by coagulation disorders, and the use of heparin in severe COVID-19 patients during ECMO treatment will increase the bleeding risk of such patients. In the present study, three cases of COVID-19 patients with RPH during ECMO treatment were investigated. Nursing operations, lifting and excessive examination are the main reasons of the occurrence of posterior peritoneal hematoma; in case of decrease in blood pressure, hemoglobin and ECMO flow rate, the occurrence of RPH should be excluded in time to avoid dangerous occurrence.
