The recent research by Cui et al highlights the role of brain-derived neurotrophic factor and inflammatory markers, such as interleukin-6, in early diagnosis and treatment of schizophrenia. Thus, we highlight the importance of personalized treatment that integrates pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, as well as continuous monitoring of cognitive function and neuroinflammatory markers, to optimize patient outcomes.
