Key Words Colon cancer; Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio; Hemoglobin-to-red cell distribution width ratio; Systemic immune-inflammation index; Inflammation markers
Core Tip Colon cancer is one of the most common cancers that causes death. We know that survival can be estimated with special tests such as circulating tumor DNA. However, we believe that estimating survival with inexpensive and validated methods such as hemogram parameters will be beneficial for clinicians. Especially in renal cell carcinoma, we can use blood parameter scales (e.g. international metastatic renal cell carcinoma database consortium score, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center) that are included in the guidelines in daily practice. However, there is not enough data in the literature on colorectal cancer. Especially hemoglobin/red cell distribution width ratio (HRR), which combines many parameters such as nutrition and inflammation in the same ratio. As far as we know, there are a limited number of studies on HRR in colorectal cancer. We believe that this study will make important contributions to the literature.
