| Core Tip |
Residual cardiovascular risk remains in patients receiving statin therapy despite well-controlled low-density lipoprotein cholesterol. Key contributors include non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, apolipoprotein B, lipoprotein(a), triglycerides, and persistent inflammation marked by high-sensitivity C-reactive protein and interleukin-6. Comprehensive strategies combining novel lipid-lowering therapies, anti-inflammatory treatments, lifestyle modification, and gene-silencing approaches are essential to effectively reduce residual risk and improve long-term cardiovascular outcomes. |
