| Core Tip |
This large retrospective study of over 70000 people with type 2 diabetes reveals that one in four patients switched glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists therapy. Remarkably, most achieved better blood sugar control, with average glycated hemoglobin dropping from 8.5% to 7.6%. The greatest benefit (81%) was seen when patients moved from daily to weekly injections, highlighting improved adherence and efficacy. These findings suggest that switching among glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists – rather than escalating to more intensive regimens – may represent a practical, patient-centred alternative to therapeutic intensification in routine diabetes care. |
