Core Tip	Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) alone cannot reliably confirm gastroesophageal reflux disease. Acid exposure time supported by pH-impedance metrics provide more accurate subtype characterization and should be used to guide management strategy when EGD is non-diagnostic.
