Core Tip Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) utilizes synergistic heat and chemotherapy to prevent and treat peritoneal metastasis in gastric cancer. Evidence indicates that HIPEC reduces peritoneal recurrence and improves survival, particularly when combined with cytoreductive surgery. Although associated with perioperative risks, complications are manageable in specialized centers. Future directions include technological innovations, combination with immunotherapy, and personalized treatment approaches to maximize efficacy and safety.
