Adipose-derived stromal cells (ADSCs) represent a heterogeneous population with mesenchymal stromal cells, pericytes, and endothelial progenitors. Subcutaneous adipose tissue provides a minimally invasive and abundant source for stromal vascular fraction isolation. A comparative analysis of untreated lipoaspirate vs Lipogems® and Body-Jet® eco systems revealed preserved viability and enhanced endothelial/pericyte proportions. Mechanical processing maintains cellular heterogeneity and niche architecture, thereby supporting the potential for safe and effective articular cartilage repair by ADSCs. |
