| Core Tip |
Parkinson’s disease (PD) is increasingly defined by non-motor symptoms that profoundly affect patient outcomes. Depression, anxiety, and fatigue form a highly prevalent and interrelated triad, particularly in elderly individuals with PD. Building on the findings of Yang et al, this editorial highlights shared neurobiological mechanisms, identifies clinical and socioeconomic risk modifiers, and emphasizes the relevance of non-motor symptom profiling for treatment planning, including deep brain stimulation. Systematic assessment and integrated management of these symptoms are essential to improving quality of life and optimizing therapeutic decision-making in aging PD populations. |
