| Core Tip |
Cold water (6-10 °C) significantly improves image quality and suppresses gastrointestinal peristalsis during sedated miniprobe endoscopic ultrasonography. Our multicenter trial showed higher rates of high-quality images (88.8% vs 75.0% vs 65.0%) and numerically higher diagnostic accuracy with cold water compared with warm (20-24 °C) and hot (35-39 °C) water. With excellent safety and comparable comfort, cold water may be the optimal temperature choice for miniprobe endoscopic ultrasonography under sedation. |
