This study identified the main active components of Tangwang formula (TWF) and explored its protective mechanism against diabetic retinopathy mice induced by streptozotocin using network pharmacology, molecular docking, 16S ribosomal RNA sequencing, and metabolomics analysis. Four key active components were identified in TWF that participated in regulating the inflammation and apoptosis. TWF might reduce blood glucose, and alleviate retinal injury by modulating the intestinal microbiota and metabolic homeostasis. These findings provide a theoretical basis for the clinical application of TWF in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy. |
