| Core Tip |
Men with diabetes remain inconsistently represented in psychotherapy trials for depressive symptoms. Across seven recent interventional studies, most psychotherapies improved depression outcomes, but sex-specific reporting was sparse, and few trials evaluated diabetes-relevant secondary outcomes in a way that supports male-sensitive inference. Trials that integrate flexible delivery formats (telephone/online), emphasize behavioral activation or diabetes distress reduction, and report sex-stratified effects are most informative for practice and future guideline refinement. |
