This editorial provides a critical, balanced, and supportive evaluation of the recently published original article by Deng et al, which examines the effects of the Stress Management and Resiliency Training-Clinical program on stress adjustment and somatic symptoms among mental health nurses. Given the increasing recognition of occupational stress and psychosomatic burden among healthcare professionals – particularly in mental health and psychosomatic care settings – this topic is both timely and highly relevant to the journal’s readership. The commentary analyzes the study from both scientific and clinical perspectives, highlighting its practical contributions, methodological strengths, and conceptual innovations, while also addressing its limitations related to study design, sample size, and causal inference. Particular attention is given to the integration of psychological and somatic outcomes, the differentiation of task-related and responsibility-related stressors, and the broader implications of resilience-oriented interventions for clinical nursing practice. The editorial further situates the findings within the contemporary international literature and offers guidance for future research and institutional policy development. This manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration elsewhere. All views expressed are those of the author and are intended to provide a constructive contribution to scholarly discourse in the fields of psychiatry and mental health nursing. |
