| Core Tip |
The lung-brain axis plays a pivotal role in coordinating respiratory and psychological disorders associated with acute respiratory distress syndrome through intricate interactions across neural, endocrine, immune, and metabolic pathways. Implementation of staged pulmonary rehabilitation combined with cognitive psychological intervention effectively enhances respiratory function and relieves symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and depression by specifically targeting this axis. Future research should prioritize the discovery of lung-brain axis-specific composite biomarkers and the design of individualized therapeutic strategies for elderly acute respiratory distress syndrome patients, thereby advancing precision nursing practice. |
