Alcohol dehydrogenase 4; Hepatocellular carcinoma; Tumor invasion; Survival prognosis; Mental health; Biomarker |
| Core Tip |
Alcohol dehydrogenase 4 is markedly downregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tissues, and its expression level is closely correlated with tumor size, histological differentiation and microvascular invasion. It serves as an independent prognostic factor for HCC patients and is negatively associated with postoperative anxiety and depression. Alcohol dehydrogenase 4 may act as a novel biomarker for the integrated assessment of tumor biological behavior and patients’ psychological status in HCC, offering a new direction for the biopsychosocial comprehensive management of the disease. |
