| Core Tip |
Personalized biodegradable anastomotic reinforcement stents designed according to preoperative three-dimensional intestinal reconstruction parameters provide individualized mechanical support after laparoscopic anterior resection for rectal cancer. This study demonstrated that the stents accelerated postoperative bowel function recovery, reduced anastomosis-related complications and postoperative inflammatory responses, and improved long-term anorectal function. These findings suggest that patient-specific biodegradable reinforcement may represent a promising strategy for enhancing anastomotic healing and improving surgical outcomes in rectal cancer. |
