Core Tip	This study explored the effects of silicone oil (SO) tamponade on retinal microcirculation in patients with complicated diabetic retinopathy using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA). SO tamponade was associated with impaired deep retinal vascular density, increased retinal thickness, and enlargement of the foveal avascular zone (FAZ). After SO removal, deep retinal vascular density partially recovered, whereas FAZ enlargement persisted. OCTA may serve as a valuable tool for postoperative follow-up and clinical management of patients after vitrectomy.
