Core Tip This cross-sectional study of 693 perimenopausal women found that depressive symptoms mediated 63.5% of the association between mindfulness and sleep quality. Higher mindfulness was associated with lower depressive symptoms, which in turn were associated with better sleep quality. These findings suggest that depressive symptoms may partially explain the mindfulness-sleep quality relationship. Due to the cross-sectional design, results indicate indirect associations only. Longitudinal studies are needed to confirm causal pathways.
