| Key Words |
Prealbumin; Hepatocellular carcinoma; Hepatectomy; Overall survival; Recurrence-free survival |
| Core Tip |
In this multicenter Chinese cohort of 1550 hepatocellular carcinoma patients undergoing curative resection, prealbumin demonstrated superior prognostic value over albumin for overall survival and recurrence free survival. When both markers were combined, low prealbumin with normal or low albumin independently predicted worse outcomes, whereas isolated low albumin did not. This dual marker approach enables precise risk stratification to guide surgical decisions and postoperative management. |
