| Core Tip |
Perinatal depression frequently co-occurs with anxiety or posttraumatic stress disorder, forming a high risk clinical profile marked by greater symptom severity and markedly lower treatment response rates-particularly in cases with triple comorbidity. Childhood trauma, traumatic birth experiences, low perceived social support, and severe baseline depression independently predict poor outcomes. Routine screening for these comorbidities, paired with traumainformed assessment of early life and obstetric experiences, is essential to guide personalized interventions and optimize maternal and infant prognosis. |
