Core Tip Small bowel capsule endoscopy (SBCE) is widely used but lacks accurate lesion localization. This study evaluated the feasibility and efficacy of a novel wearable magnetic tracking-based three-dimensional (3D) trajectory SBCE system for lesion localization. Using canine models with surgically placed intestinal simulated lesions, the system achieved 100% lesion detection, generated complete and continuous 3D trajectories, and provided accurate pylorus-to-lesion distance measurements with a mean relative error of 5.03% ± 2.05%. This is the first in vivo animal study to evaluate an SBCE localization system capable of directly measuring pylorus-to-lesion distances, underscoring its potential for clinical translation.
