Core Tip Hepatocellular carcinoma is a biologically diverse liver cancer. Using histopathological assessment and molecular profiling of 39 hepatocellular carcinomas, we found that steatohepatitic (STH) features occurred across multiple molecular subtypes and were not restricted to the G4 subgroup as previously suggested. Intracytoplasmic hyaline bodies were numerically more frequent in tumors harboring pathogenic genetic alterations. Neither molecular subtype nor STH morphology was associated with patient survival in this cohort. These findings suggest that STH morphology may represent a heterogeneous phenotypic pattern rather than a distinct molecular entity.
