Deficient mismatch repair status determines immunotherapy eligibility for rectal cancer patients but relies on pathological detection of endoscopic biopsy specimens which are sometimes unobtainable; we constructed and externally validated a pretreatment magnetic resonance imaging radiomic prediction model incorporating fractal dimension features via a 1:2 matched retrospective case-control design, which may facilitate noninvasive pretreatment identification of deficient mismatch repair tumors and reduce missed screening of patients eligible for immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy. |
