| Core Tip |
Ectopic adrenal myelolipoma involving the liver is exceptionally rare and may closely mimic hepatic angiomyolipoma on preoperative imaging. This case demonstrates the value of three-dimensional reconstruction for delineating the anatomical relationship among the mass, liver, and adrenal gland. Histopathological examination of adrenal tissue within the tumor capsule and hepatic tissue outside the capsule supported an ectopic adrenal origin. Therefore, ectopic adrenal myelolipoma should be considered in the differential diagnosis of fat-containing lesions at the hepatic-adrenal interface, helping to prevent misdiagnosis and inform appropriate surgical management. |
