Core Tip Endoscopic retrograde appendicitis therapy (ERAT) is an organ-preserving approach for acute uncomplicated appendicitis. In this retrospective cohort of 150 patients, eyeMAX insight-assisted ERAT combined with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) was associated with shorter operative time and faster recovery than conventional ERAT or laparoscopic appendectomy. Conventional ERAT had six 12-month recurrences (12.5%), consistent with the displayed Kaplan-Meier curve. Because treatment selection was nonrandom and ERAT combined with TCM combined two intervention components, these findings do not establish an independent causal benefit of either direct visualization or TCM.
