| Core Tip |
The high-risk factor questionnaire (HRFQ) and fecal immunochemical test (FIT) are widely used in colorectal cancer (CRC) screening. Using data from a large community-based screening program, factors associated with screening positivity, colonoscopy compliance, and diagnostic outcomes were compared across the two screening approaches. FIT-positive individuals showed higher colonoscopy compliance and a greater yield of target lesions (advanced adenomas or early-stage CRC), whereas the HRFQ identified a broader high-risk population. These findings highlight potentially complementary roles of HRFQ and FIT in community-based CRC screening and provide insights into the two screening approaches for different populations. |
