Core Tip	This article highlights the important interaction between epigenetic alteration and the immune microenvironment. We summarize DNA methylation, histone modification, and non-coding RNA in regulating immune checkpoint, macrophage, myeloid-derived suppressor cell, and regulatory T cell. These are contributing to an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. We also discuss therapies combining epigenetic modulator and immune checkpoint inhibitor in the surgical setting. We explore advances in multi-omics technology to understand epigenetic-immune crosstalk. We emphasize epigenetic-immune axis targeting in order to enhance anti-tumor immunity with outcomes improvement.
