| Core Tip |
By integrating mood episode histories across three major reproductive windows (premenstrual, perinatal, and perimenopausal periods), this study provides a lifespan perspective on reproductive cycle-related mood vulnerability in women with mood disorders. A history of reproductive cycle-related mood episodes was associated with greater depressive and anxiety symptom severity, as well as greater childhood emotional neglect and negative life event impact. Importantly, symptom differences were primarily observed between women without and those with any positive reproductive window history, whereas additional affected windows were not associated with further increases in symptom severity. |
