| Core Tip |
This study developed and internally validated a nomogram for predicting recurrent bleeding risk after a first episode of upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB) in patients with viral hepatitis-related cirrhosis. The model incorporates four routinely available binary predictors-esophageal and gastric varices, ascites, portal vein diameter (< 1.3 cm), and portal vein thrombosis-and may serve as a preliminary visual aid for risk stratification. However, it is an exploratory tool that requires external validation in multicenter cohorts before any clinical application. |
