Core Tip	This review provides a mechanistic perspective on the link between sleep disturbance and mood symptoms during perimenopause. Hormonal fluctuation and vasomotor symptoms may disturb sleep, while poor sleep may increase vulnerability to anxiety and depressive symptoms. In summary, sleep disturbance and mood symptoms may form a bidirectional pathway during the menopausal transition.
