| Core Tip |
This study compared Foley catheter-based intraperitoneal Pringle maneuver (IPM) with tourniquet-style extraperitoneal Pringle maneuver during laparoscopic liver resection, employing overlap weighting and repeated-measures linear regression models with heteroskedasticity-consistent standard errors clustered at the patient level. No significant differences were observed in blood loss, total operative time, or 30-day clinical outcomes. While IPM was associated with a shorter recorded Pringle maneuver sequence duration and lower day-specific early postoperative transaminase estimates, these surrogate outcomes did not yield detectable clinical benefits. This study provides device-specific observational evidence and supports a hypothesis-generating rather than superiority-based interpretation. |
