Core Tip Malignancy-related upper gastrointestinal bleeding is difficult to control and prone to rebleeding. In this multicenter retrospective cohort study of 213 patients, hemostatic powder achieved a significantly higher rate of immediate hemostasis than conventional endoscopic therapy (97.7% vs 90.6%), although rebleeding, transfusion requirement, hospital stay, and 30-day mortality were comparable. Metastatic tumor origin and a high Rockall score independently predicted rebleeding. Because of its noncontact application and broad surface coverage, hemostatic powder may serve as a useful option for rapid initial hemostasis in malignancy-related bleeding.
