| Core Tip |
Multicellular liver organoids provide human-relevant systems for studying the multicellular interactions that drive metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis-associated fibrogenesis. Their current strength lies in modeling steatotic, inflammatory, and early fibrogenic responses, whereas sustained fibrosis, tissue architecture, and standardized human-disease benchmarking remain incompletely reproduced. This review proposes a fit-for-purpose framework for selecting and interpreting these models according to the biological question and the level of validation achieved. |
