Core Tip	Here, we present a case in which an asymptomatic woman with persistent isolated elevated aspartate aminotransferase (AST) was diagnosed as having macro-AST, which was confirmed by the polyethylene glycol method; only 3 such cases have been published in the English language literature up to September 2019 in China. It is necessary for physicians to be sufficiently familiar with this condition to avoid repeated unnecessary check-ups.
