Key Words Hepatitis B; Hepatitis C; Noninvasive fibrosis markers; Mac-2 binding protein glycosylation isomer; Liver disease;
Core Tip We found that Mac-2 binding protein glycosylation isomer levels can be used for non-invasive liver fibrosis staging in the Vietnamese population with mixed etiologies. In early evaluations, we observed significantly higher levels with cirrhotic patients and good correlations with viral load testing in hepatitis B. Utility of the marker is convenient and useful, especially in resource limited countries for fast turnaround to assess liver disease.
