Core Tip |
Plasma concentration monitoring is essential for optimizing vancomycin therapy. This study investigates the relationship between clinical characteristics, pharmacokinetic parameters of vancomycin, especially the trough concentration and area under the curve, and its efficacy and nephrotoxicity in Chinese intensive care unit patients to inform personalized vancomycin administration. The results show that, the effective and safe concentration interval for vancomycin in intensive care unit patients is trough concentration 9.4-14.0 μg/mL. |
