Key Words |
L-arginine; Glucose; Oxidative stress; Antioxidant; Inflamation; Caridac |
Core Tip |
The effect of L-arginine (L-Arg) daily administration is dependent on its concentration in type II diabetes. Low L-Arg is safe and good for diabetes. However, over 0.5 g/kg L-Arg is a risk factor for the heart. It may aggravate myocardial damage by increasing blood glucose levels, oxidative stress, inflammatory mediator levels, and cardiac remodeling. |
