Core Tip Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women and depressive symptoms are frequent during the disease. A recent study by Mao et al developed a nomogram predictive model for depression in young and middle-aged breast cancer patients. The results showed strong predictive capability with high sensitivity and specificity. However, the geographical limitations of the sample and the cross-sectional design of the study limit the conclusions. Besides, there is a need of developing and standardizing screening tests and tools to assess risk factors for depression in breast cancer patients in the context of a comprehensive management.
