Core Tip |
Recent research has revealed significant sex disparities in hepatitis C treatment outcomes. Women, particularly premenopausal and menopausal women, show higher sustained virologic response rates than men. However, postmenopausal women face unique challenges. This highlights the need for sex-sensitive approaches in hepatitis C management, considering biological, hormonal, and psychosocial factors. Healthcare providers should implement tailored treatment strategies to address such disparities, improve patient outcomes, and ensure equitable care. Further research is needed to explore the underlying mechanisms driving these differences, ultimately contributing to more effective and personalized care across diverse demographics. |
