Core Tip |
This global meta-analysis of 866 randomized trials (n = 3300) reveals significant improvements in lipid profiles among overweight/obese individuals over three decades, with triglycerides, total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol declining while high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol increased. Notably, pharmacological interventions showed the most pronounced benefits. These findings highlight that despite rising obesity rates, concerted public health efforts and therapeutic advances have successfully mitigated dyslipidemia risks in this high-risk population, offering crucial insights for clinical practice and health policy. |
