| Core Tip |
In this study, we investigated the role of tropomyosin 3 (TPM3) in gastric cancer (GC). We found that TPM3 is highly expressed in GC tissues and is associated with poor prognosis. Mechanistically, TPM3 promotes GC cell proliferation, invasion, and metastasis through interaction with tyrosine 3-monooxygenase/tryptophan 5-monooxygenase activation protein gamma and subsequent activation of the mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling pathway. Both in vitro and in vivo experiments demonstrated that the TPM3/tyrosine 3-monooxygenase/tryptophan 5-monooxygenase activation protein gamma axis plays a critical role in GC progression. |
