| Core Tip |
This retrospective cohort study evaluated whether an electronic medical record-derived psychosocial vulnerability index is associated with unplanned readmission among patients with heart failure undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention. High electronic medical record-derived psychosocial vulnerability index was associated with higher 90-day unplanned readmission and with the one-year composite of readmission or death after propensity score matching, with estimates that were consistent in direction but modest in precision across sensitivity analyses. The findings identify psychosocial vulnerability documented in routine records as a candidate risk marker in this population; they are associational, were not evaluated as a prediction model, and require external validation. |
