| Core Tip |
The timely diagnosis and successful treatment of Helicobacter pylori are critical strategies for preventing stomach cancer. The effectiveness of eradication therapy depends on specific bacterial and host factors, and how well these are considered when selecting a treatment regimen. This review highlights how bacterial and host molecular factors impact the effectiveness of anti-Helicobacter therapy. Currently known molecular predictors of eradication efficacy, genetic markers involved in the metabolism of drugs used to eradicate Helicobacter pylori, and the associated individual risks of side effects are presented. |
