| Core Tip |
This study reveals that exosomes derived from adipose-derived stem cells deliver miR-148a-3p to microglia, where it directly targets transmembrane protein 9B and suppresses the nuclear factor-kappa B signaling pathway. This mechanism drives microglial polarization from the pro-inflammatory M1 to the anti-inflammatory M2 phenotype, thereby reducing neuroinflammation and improving neurological recovery in a rat model of traumatic brain injury. The specificity of the miR-148a-3p/transmembrane protein 9B/nuclear factor-kappa B axis was confirmed by a rescue experiment, identifying a novel therapeutic target for neuroinflammatory disorders. |
