Key Words Gastric cancer; Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 00657; miR-218-2-3p; Multidrug resistance; Molecular mechanism
Core Tip Multidrug resistant (MDR) gastric cancer is one of the most common malignancies of the digestive system with high morbidity and mortality. MiR-218-2-3p expression was verified in gastric cancer tissues of 150 patients by quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. Overexpression of miR-218-2-3p was constructed by the lentiviral packaging system to prove the functional importance of miR-218-2-3p. Further experiments have verified that the long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 00657/miR-218-2-3p/cyclin D1 axis promotes MDR in gastric cancer by activating the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/protein kinase B/mammalian target of rapamycin signal pathway.
