| Core Tip |
Jiao-Tai-Wan (JTW) is a traditional Chinese herbal formula used for treating hyperglycemia, yet its underlying mechanism remains incompletely understood. This study integrated network pharmacology, weighted gene coexpression network analysis, and in vivo and in vitro experiments to investigate whether JTW protects pancreatic β cell function through ferroptosis inhibition. We identified NQO1 as a core target and demonstrated that JTW regulates ferroptosis by activating the Nrf2/NQO1 signaling pathway to improve pancreatic β cell function. These findings reveal a novel antiferroptotic mechanism contributing to the hypoglycemic action of JTW. |
