| Core Tip |
This study demonstrates that nanostructured propolis exerts greater antifibrotic effects than conventional propolis in a carbon tetrachloride-induced rat model of liver fibrosis. Propolis nanoparticles significantly reduced liver injury, oxidative stress, and collagen deposition while partially reversing alterations in the autophagy-related markers microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3 and sequestosome 1. These findings suggest that nanostructuring enhances the biological activity of propolis and support its potential as a promising strategy for improving antifibrotic therapy. |
