Recent evidence also emphasizes the role of gut-liver microbiota dysbiosis and cytokine storm-mediated contributions that can lead to disease progression. Prompt understanding and treatment of the condition can help tailor management strategies including timely withdrawal of the precipitating factors and treatment of the underlying infections for improving the clinical outcomes and reducing the need for liver transplantation. |
