| Core Tip |
Helminths and anthelmintic resistance are underappreciated variables in gastrointestinal tissue engineering. Helminths may influence mucosal repair, epithelial stem cell behavior, and local immune regulation, while anthelmintic-resistant parasites may complicate infection control before implantation. This review examines how these two themes intersect with gut microbiota, antimicrobial resistance, and regenerative technologies, and presents the helminth-microbiota-tissue engineering triad as a hypothesis-generating framework rather than an established biological paradigm. |
