| Core Tip |
This study establishes that netrin-4 (NTN4) expression is markedly downregulated in pancreatic islets under obesity-associated lipotoxic stress. Mechanistically, NTN4 preserves pancreatic β-cell homeostasis through interaction with translationally controlled tumor protein 1 (TPT1), which consequently increases TPT1-mediated functional output. These findings delineate the NTN4-TPT1 regulatory axis as a critical pathophysiological node in obesity-associated diabetes; therefore, this signaling module should be considered for further evaluation as a viable therapeutic entry point. |
